Krieger took up the term Peinture Classique to illustrate his departure from common manifestations of contemporary art. In particular, he opposes an eclectic manner characterized by triviality , which in his opinion is characteristic of the art of the late 20th and early 21st centuries and which he summarizes as late modern trivial mannerism. The associated emphasis on the material surface only apparently gives the impression of incomprehensibly provoking, revolutionary or scandalous . In contrast, he strives for a synthesis of the intellectual leeway gained in the modern age and the European art of the previous centuries. For him, this is actually the new perspective of the 21st century, both for art and, correspondingly, for general intellectual development. The civilization, which is characterized by science , technology , mass phenomena and a historically unprecedented dynamic of change can only develop into a new form of culture if it succeeds in regaining the human dimension.

Krieger used the forum offered by the Berlin think tank “IUF” to present his painting and his views, based on the conviction that art is part of intellectual development. This collaboration began in 2007 and has since resulted in several events that combined historical, economic and social aspects with those of art.
