Bernhard Recker

Bernhard Recker (born June 18, 1939 in Ahlen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From June 1, 1995 to 2012, he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Recker graduated from high school in 1961 and then studied history, politics, German, sport and religion at the Münster University of Education until 1964. In 1964 he passed the first state examination and in 1967 the second state examination for teaching at elementary schools. From April 1964 to April 1968 he was a teacher at the Ludgeri School in Ahlen and from April 1968 to July 1983 he was a teacher at the Overberg secondary school in Ahlen. From June 1983 to May 1995 he was headmaster at the Marien-Grundschule in Ahlen.

Recker has been a member of the CDU since 1974 and was deputy chairman of the CDU in Ahlen from 1987 to 1992. Since 1989 he has been deputy chairman of the CDU district association in Warendorf. He has been a member of the City Council of Ahlen since 1974, where he has been parliamentary group chairman since 1993. From 1989 to 1994 he was the first deputy mayor of the city of Ahlen. He has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia since June 1, 1995, where he has been the CDU's school policy spokesman since 1997. Since June 2000 he has also been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in North Rhine-Westphalia. He is also a full member of the state parliament's sports committee. Since 1997 he has been a member of the federal technical committee of the CDU for the education sector and since 2004 spokesman and coordinator of the CDU of all federal states in the education sector. He has been a member of the CDA since December 1976 and of the Education and Training Association since January 1965. In 2012, Recker was not put up again as a candidate for the CDU's state parliament for the 2012 state elections.
