Bernhard Rieder

Bernhard Rieder (born March 3, 1953 in Berlin ) is a German administrative officer and was State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior from 2010 to 2014 .

After attending school with Abitur in Gerolstein in 1973, Rieder went on to study law, which he completed in Berlin with the second state examination in 1982. He then joined the financial administration of Rhineland-Palatinate and from 1988 headed the St. Goar tax office. After the accession of the new federal states, he was seconded to Sondershausen in 1991 and took over the management of the local tax office. In 1993 he moved to the Thuringian Ministry of Finance, where he was head of department until 1997 and head of department until 2001. He then worked in the Ministry of Justice until 2003, then in the Free State's Ministry of the Interior. As head of the department for constitutional and administrative law, he was also responsible for the protection of the constitution and, until 2008, also for disaster control. In December 2010 he was appointed State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior. With the inauguration of the Cabinet Ramelow I he left office.

Rieder is a member of the CDU .
