Berthold Gray

Berthold Grau (* 1910/1911; † October 3, 1966 ) was a German railway engineer .

Life

After completing his diploma in railway construction, Grau worked for the Deutsche Reichsbahn for 16 years . He then taught railroad construction for 16 years at the Technical University of Dresden and the University of Transport . On January 1, 1957, the graduate engineer was entrusted with the exercise of a professorship with a teaching assignment for railway line management and station design at the Faculty of Transportation Engineering at the University of Transportation. On September 1, 1961, he was appointed professor at this chair. Until recently he was head of this chair at the Institute for Track Systems at the HfV.

Grau died on October 3, 1966 at the age of 56, four days after completing his manuscript for the first volume of his book Bahnhofsgestaltung . On September 1, 1967, Günter Schümberg took over the provisional management of the chair.

Grau was a member of the Transport Section in the Research Council of the GDR .
