The professional association fire brigade eV (BvFw) was an interest group of professional fire fighters in Germany with seat in Hamburg. According to its own statements, it had over 1,800 members at the end of October 2013 and works independently of unions and parties. Membership was open to persons who work full-time for and for professional and plant fire departments as well as volunteer fire departments.

aims

The association campaigned, among other things, to improve the professional situation of salaried and civil servant firefighters. The goals of the organization did not only include collective bargaining issues for employees. The BvFw stated that technical expertise and a European network should in particular represent fundamental topics of hazard prevention and disaster control in the interests of professional firefighters.

founding

The founding members decided on July 30, 2007 to found the company; the association was registered at the registry court of the Hamburg district court .

resolution

On May 8, 2018, the merger agreement between the Berufsverband Feuerwehr eV and the German Fire Brigade Union was passed. The merger was completed on January 1, 2019, with which the professional association fire brigade eV was dissolved.
