Professional Association for Child Nursing Germany

The Professional Association of Child Nursing Germany (BeKD) has been the only German interest group since 1980 and the professional association of health and child nurses in Germany. Founded as a working group for pediatric nurses , the professional association was renamed the BeKD in 2000. The association represents around 60,000 nurses employed in child care. The task of the association is the professional and political assurance of the quality and the further development of health and children's nursing.

The BeKD is a founding member of the German Nursing Council, a member of the advisory board of the National Center for Early Help and works with the Pediatric Nursing Associations of Europe .
