German Nursing Council

The German Pflegerat e. V. ( DPR ) has been representing the most important professional associations for nursing and midwifery in Germany as a federal working group and umbrella organization since 1998 . He is a partner of the leading organizations of self-administration in the health sector .

The FREP is represented by a presidium, which is elected every four years by a council. President of the German Care Council has been the previous managing director of the professional association for care professions Franz Wagner since September 2017 . The association is based in Berlin . With the basic program The DPR is the voice of the care profession in politics and society! it defines guidelines for the actions of its member associations.

  • Coordination and implementation of the political positions of the member associations (in particular through statements and advice from the federal ministries )
  • Promotion of professional self-administration (e.g. in the form of a care chamber )
  • Promotion of quality development and assurance
  • Promotion of nursing science
