The professional association of resident children's surgeons in Germany (BNKD) eV is a medical association based in Berlin .
It emerged from the working group of resident children's surgeons within the Society of German Children's Surgeons (DGKC). It was founded in 1999 and represents the interests of the outpatient operating pediatric surgeons in Germany. It represents its members within medical professional associations, at guideline conferences and does lobbying work . The professional association calls for pediatric surgical care that is based on the state of the art and that can be provided under economically and health-politically reasonable conditions. He advocates adequate representation of the resident child surgeons in the medical committees, claims to safeguard the interests of his members as a medical minority and expects his members to exercise their profession based on several years of advanced training and ongoing training.
