The Professional Association of Resident Surgeons (BNC) was founded in 1996 and, as a professional association, represents the interests of surgeons who work in private practice in Germany. The association has a total of around 1,500 members who work in individual and group practices, practice clinics, outpatient surgery centers or medical care centers (MVZ).

aims

The aim of the Professional Association of Resident Surgeons (BNC) is, on the one hand, to promote the training and further education of its members. To this end, he organizes the annual Federal Surgery Congress in Nuremberg in cooperation with other professional associations. The association magazine serves to inform the members. At the political level, the BNC is committed to the political and financial support of outpatient surgical treatment as well as interdisciplinary exchange. The BNC is committed to ensuring and maintaining outpatient surgical care for the population and to informing the population about current developments in surgery.

Structure and way of working

The BNC is the umbrella organization for 24 regional working groups of resident surgeons (ANC). Each ANC is an independent association with a statute and board. The delegates of the 24 ANC elect a five-member board every five years, which directs the activities of the BNC at the federal level. In some regional ANC, cooperatives of resident surgeons (GNC) have been formed, which coordinate the political work of the ANC in the business sector (purchasing groups, framework agreements, quality assurance, practice hygiene, etc.). In 2014 the GNC North Rhine, the Cooperative of Resident Operators Hessen (GNOH) and the GNC Bayern are active for their members, another cooperative is in preparation in Lower Saxony.

In addition, the BNC is a member of the National Association of Specialists in Germany (SpiFa).
