The practice of denunciation was closely related to the idea of the Witches ' Sabbath , in which witches did not act as individuals but as members of a large conspiracy. The evils they were charged with condensed into five core offenses - the devil's pact , the devil's compensation , the flight of the witches , the witches' sabbath and magic spells - of which all witches were accused together.
