Relationship capital

The relational capital represents the relationship of an organization to its stakeholders , such as customers and suppliers, as well as other partners and the public, showing the value that these stakeholders attach to the business. By analyzing relationship capital, management decisions and processes of a company can be assessed and communication can be controlled. Relationship capital as an intangible company value examines stakeholder relationships and is clearly differentiated from the shareholder value-driven view of companies and sales markets. Instead, the focus is on the importance of opinion markets, intangible assets and their value creation potential. The conceptis used in particular in strategic stakeholder management, for the preparation of intellectual capital statements and in the context of corporate social responsibility reporting.
