According to an inscription plaque, the building at Court Square No. 1-2 was built between 1530 and 1539. The building was redesigned several times, with significant changes being implemented by Nikolaus Ströner in 1717. The building is characterized by Gothic and Baroque elements, with Gothic barrel vaults with lancet caps and cross ridges partially preserved inside the building. The building itself was laid out on three floors and has a bay window on the south side. The outside of the building was adorned in 1958 with a fresco by Franz Walchegger , which is about the pledge of Matreis to the Salzburg cathedral chapter . After a renovation between 1983 and 1984, the building now serves as the seat of the local police station and the location of the land registry. In addition, apartments were set up in the district court, which was closed in 2002.
