District Hospital Straubing

District Hospital Straubing is a forensic-psychiatric clinic at Lerchenhaid 32 in Straubing . As a penal institution, it keeps and treats mentally ill and addicts offenders. The hospital is sponsored by the Lower Bavaria district .

history

Construction began in October 1986 and the opening took place in May 1990. Since then the house has been expanded regularly.

In 2013, among other things, the accommodation conditions were criticized. In 2016, a scandal broke out after the video of a schizophrenic patient who had been taken to an isolation room.

Gustl Mollath is one of the prominent former inmates . He stayed at the facility from 2007 to 2009.
