The Maling Peak 430 m high mountain on the south coast of Coronation Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is the southernmost of two prominent mountains that rise 800 m northwest of Cape Vik .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations carried out rough surveys of the mountain in 1933. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1955 after Derek Hilton Maling (1923-1998), meteorologist of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey on Signy Island in 1948 and 1949, who was involved in triangulation surveys of Signy Island and the south coast of Coronation Island .
