Cape Vik is a cape on the south coast of Coronation Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is on the west side of the entrance to Marshall Bay .
The name of the cape is included on maps from the 1920s by the Norwegian whaling captain Petter Sørlle (1884–1933), who surveyed the South Orkney Islands between 1912 and 1913. "Vik" is the Norwegian name for a bay .
