Bezold abscess

With Bezold abscess (also: Bezold mastoiditis ), the abscess formation by the mastoid ( mastoid process ) of the temporal bone in the sternocleidomastoid muscle designated ( " Bezoldscher abscess "). The abscess is a rare complication and consequence of an acute otitis media and was named after the German ear specialist Friedrich Bezold .
