Bezpartyjny Blok Wspierania Reform

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The non- party bloc in support of the reforms ( Polish Bezpartyjny Blok Wspierania Reform, BBWR ) was a Polish party founded in 1993 by politicians close to President Lech Wałęsa . The aim was to give parliamentary support to the president's policy. The acronym BBWR was deliberately chosen based on the non-party bloc of government supporters ( Bezpartyjny Blok Współpracy z Rządem ) in the interwar period.

In the 1993 elections to the Sejm , the BBWR entered parliament with 5.4 percent and 16 seats. The BBWR did not run for the 1997 parliamentary elections.
