The Evagarten of the Bibliorama should be a piece of paradise in the middle of the big city

The Bibliorama is a 2015 opened Bible Museum in Stuttgart, Büchsenstraße 37. "offers 350 sqm a panoramic route through the Bible and shows the many points of contact in today's everyday life."

Exhibition concept

The entire exhibition area covers almost 600 m², on which nine differently designed locations are distributed.

The Bibliorama has only a few classical exhibits and thus differs from most Bible museums in which manuscripts or historical books are the focus. Instead, the Stuttgart concept puts fourteen biblical people at the center of the exhibition, each representing basic experiences of the Bible . For example, pregnant Sarah , who is on her way to an unknown land with Abraham . Visitors can make music with a laser harp like David or set a psalm to music themselves . A camera obscura is one of the interactive elements .

"Sophia", the personified wisdom, is presented as a woman who finds the spiritual dimension in her everyday life. In fact, the biblical Sophia is “symbolized by a Swabian housewife at the stove who was busy researching the Bible at the time of pietism and even had biblical sayings in front of her eyes on towels in her kitchen.” The exhibition thus alludes to the Württemberg local color and the importance of Stuttgart City of the Bible (seat of the German Bible Society and the Catholic Biblical Works ).

The bibliorama was awarded the German Design Award 2017 - Excellent Communications Design for its modern, participatory concept (Jochen Hunger Museum & exhibition design, Jochen Hunger dk architects - Axel Dorner & Elmar König, Axel Dorner) .

Sponsorship

The museum is sponsored by the Evangelical Church in Württemberg in cooperation with the Württemberg Bible Society . The regional church bears the annual costs of around 400,000 euros. The curator is Susanne Claussen .
