Library of Ca 'Pesaro

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ca 'Pesaro library in Venice , which has existed since 2002, was created in the late 1950s from donations from numerous institutions and private individuals to the Galleria internazionale d'arte moderna Ca' Pesaro .

The systematic recording and cataloging of the now 11,000 volumes did not begin until 2001. In addition, a procurement system was started in order to fill the gaps created by the chance occurrence.

When the restored palace reopened, the library began operations in 2002. It is located in the mezzanine as long as the cataloging has not yet been completed. The emphasis is on the art of the 19th and 20th centuries with a focus on exhibition activities in Venice.

The holdings accordingly include numerous catalogs of the exhibitions, plus artist monographs, works by and about the Venice Biennale and works by numerous artists, 3,000 of which are in the Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe alone .
