Library of the Lithuanian Music and Theater Academy
The library of the Lithuanian Music and Theater Academy (lit.Lietuvos muzikos ir teatro akademijos biblioteka ) is a library in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . It belongs to the Lithuanian Music and Theater Academy . The oldest document is a manuscript from the 17th century.
history
In 1945 the library in the Vilnius Conservatory was established in Soviet Lithuania . The documents came from the Vilnius Music School (6,000 copies), Moscow Conservatory (10,000 copies) and Kauno konservatorija (32,000 copies ). From 1975 to 1991 the library had branches in the faculties of the Lithuanian State Conservatory in the port city of Klaipėda u. a. In 1993 the documents were handed over to the University of Klaipėda . She has been a member of the International Association of Music Libraries Archive and Documentation Centers since 1995 and of Lietuvos mokslinių bibliotekų asociacija since 2002 .
