The specialist journal bibliotheken heute is published by the State Library Center Rhineland-Palatinate (LBZ) and serves as a forum for libraries of all branches. She mainly reports on the library system in Rhineland-Palatinate .
“Bibibliotheken heute” has been published three times a year since 2011 with a circulation of 1,700 copies.
Since 2005, “bibliotheken heute” has replaced the magazine “die Bücherei”, which was published from 1953 to 2004 by the Landesbüchereistelle Koblenz and the Staatliche Büchereistelle in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . The change of name was also associated with a conceptual reorientation.
All municipal public libraries, academic libraries as well as school libraries and church libraries in Rhineland-Palatinate receive the print version free of charge. An electronic version is also available free of charge.
