Flexible plywood is a wood-based material that consists of several layers of wood glued together ( plywood ) and, due to its structure, can be bent very easily compared to other types of plywood.

properties

Flexible plywood is usually three-ply, with the middle layer thinner than the outer one. The middle layer consists of a thin peeled veneer , which is covered on both sides by thicker outer layers. This type of plywood can be easily bent parallel to the grain of the middle layer without breaking. 4 mm thick flexible plywood allows a minimum bending radius of around 60 mm; with increasing material thickness, the minimum bending radius also increases.

application

The areas of application for flexible plywood are wherever rounded wooden shapes are necessary, especially as a cladding component. Accordingly, it is used for cladding columns, in counter and exhibition stand construction , in boat and vehicle construction and for formwork .
