The Bielefelder Kinderchor is a nationally known children's choir in Bielefeld . It was founded in 1932 by Friedrich Oberschelp (1895–1986). In the 1960s, his son Jürgen (* 1938) took over the children's choir and continues to lead it today.

The children are admitted at the age of 10, whereby the boys have to leave the choir early because of the broken voice . The annual Christmas concerts in the Rudolf-Oetker-Halle in Bielefeld, famous for its acoustics, have a special tradition . The last concerts of this kind took place in 2013.

Travels abroad have taken the choir to many European countries (including Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, England, Switzerland), Asia (including Japan, Turkey) and the USA. The maintenance of the old folk songs in the context of contemporary choral music is one of the most important goals.

Every year up to 100 boys and girls are accepted into the choir. You come from the fourth grade of elementary school and begin in a preliminary course. Some of them complement the concert choir from the start.

The choir has not been known to have performed publicly since 2016.
