The Bierbaum Unternehmensgruppe GmbH & Co.KG based in Borken (North Rhine-Westphalia) produces home textiles and technical textiles for filters and car manufacturing. The main factory was founded in 1895.
Bierbaum produces thermal nonwovens for cleaning cloths at the main plant in Borken and maintains a full range of finishing and administration at the main site. Bierbaum also maintains strategic partnerships in various countries, where, among other things, woven goods are manufactured in contract manufacturing but on their own machines. In 2008, the Bierbaum Group achieved a group turnover of 103 million euros with 564 employees.
Bierbaum operates integrated processes in textile production from weaving / knitting to thermally bonded needle punched fabrics and finishing of fibers and fabrics to packaging and shipping (logistics) ready for sale. The production base is geographically dispersed in order to gain access to cheap labor, but a relatively large proportion is still in Germany.
In addition to the Bierbaum brand, the registered trademarks BIBA, Flinka, and Irisette are also marketed.
