Biewerbachtal bridge

The Biewerbachtalbrücke is a girder bridge on the A 64 near Trier . It crosses the Biewerbach at a height of 91 m above the valley . In the course of the bridge, the motorway has only three lanes and no median, so that only 80 km / h is allowed. Accidents on and in the vicinity of the bridge are not uncommon.

The bridge is also in great need of renovation. Some heavily corroded concrete slabs were temporarily replaced in 2009.

A second bridge, which would accommodate a one-way carriageway for the fully developed A 64, is in the planning stage.
