Big Daddy & Rockin 'Combo are a Finnish rockabilly band from Varsinais .

Band history

Big Daddy started out as a rock 'n' roll singer in the late 1970s. In 1981 he met the drummer Spatteri and founded Blue Caps with two other musicians . A year later it became the rockin 'combo with bassist Jorkke, guitarist Mike River and singer and guitarist Relli . But even this combination did not last long and without River and Relli the others continued as a trio under a new name, separated completely, came back together in different combinations and under new names. They sang rock'n 'roll, rockabilly, psychobilly, sometimes in English, sometimes in Finnish. At the end of the 80s, Big Daddy also made some recordings with a band that first called themselves Suur-Suomi and then Jupiter Stroll, but they did not succeed.

In 2006 Big Daddy, Spatteri, Jorkke and his brother Big J. came together again as Big Daddy & Rockin 'Combo. The following year the label Jupiter Stroll Records was founded, which also signed other Finnish bands of the same music genre. In the middle of the year the band then recorded an album with 10 covers and four self-written songs. My Cadillac Kid's was released in early 2008 and was also distributed internationally. International appearances also followed, for example at 20 Flight Rock on Hamburg's Reeperbahn .

In autumn 2008, Big Daddy & Rockin 'Combo recorded a new single and chose an album title for the Finnish rock band Hanoi Rocks from the 80s. With the title Dead by X-mas they created a big surprise and entered the Finnish charts at number 1 in the 45th chart week .

In spring 2009 the Finnish-language single "Soittajan Vaimo" was released and in week 20 it rose to number 6 in the Finnish charts.
