Big John (motorcycle)

Big John is a streamlined motorcycle built in the early 1960s that was designed to break the land speed record  - not just the motorcycle speed record  . In 1963 it reached about 500  km / h driven by Johnny Allen on the Bonneville Salt Flats , but there were no races that complied with the regulations and threatened John Cobb's record since 1947. The American designer James Harold "Stormy" Mangham from Fort Worth ( Texas ) - already responsible for causing the Triumph Streamliner  - that had a 351- cubic inch (5752 cc) Chevrolet - V8 engine built equipped vehicle.
