Bijou (magazine)

Bijou ( Hangeul : 비쥬) was a South Korean comic magazine that was published from May 2002 to May 2004, initially twice a month, later monthly by Sigongsa Publishing House , and offered a platform for Manhwa aimed at teenage girls (Sunjeong). A total of 40 issues appeared.

In this magazine a number of titles appeared that were later distributed internationally. For example Park Sang-sun's mystery series The Tarot Café ( 타로 카페 ), which has been translated into Italian, French, Spanish, English and German. Kim Mi-kyung brought out her manga The 11th Cat about the experiences of a young, somewhat clumsy witch, also in Bijou . Popular comics from the magazine such as Angel Diary by the cartoonist duo Kara continued after the magazine was closed, others were canceled.

Japanese comics were also featured in the magazine, including Global Garden by Saki Hiwatari and Skip Beat! by Yoshiki Nakamura .
