Bike biathlon
Bikebiathlon is the combination of mountain biking and the shooting that is typical of biathlon . The Altenberg Bikebiathlon , where athletes like Ole Einar Bjørndalen are at the start, is particularly well known . The competition disciplines of biathlon, i.e. sprint, pursuit and mixed relay, are modeled on off-road courses. Some organizers also call the competition a bikathlon .
Since 2007 there has also been a bike biathlon in Munich and one in Wertheim .
The first bike biathlon took place in Burglauer / Lower Franconia in 1992 ; the 21st mountain bike biathlon was currently held on June 8, 2013.
The forefather of mountain bike biathlon in Germany is Wolfgang Back from Burglauer / Lower Franconia.
