Education at a glance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Education at a Glance ( "Education at a Glance") is a 1996-annual compilation of comparative education indicators of the OECD . The entire education system is covered, from elementary education in kindergarten and preschool to continuing education for adults. The study includes, among other things, data on participation in education, graduation rates, expenditure on education as well as further training and teaching and learning conditions.

In Germany, the OECD has regularly presented "Education at a Glance" in recent years (as of 2017) together with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Conference of Ministers of Education . A finding repeatedly highlighted by the OECD is the low proportion of university or technical college graduates or graduates with a higher professional qualification in international comparison. Germany is not doing justice to the emerging need for highly qualified people.
