Biliodigestive anastomosis
A biliodigestive anastomosis is a surgically established connection ( anastomosis ) between the gallbladder ( vesica biliaris ) or the bile duct ( ductus choledochus ) and parts of the gastrointestinal tract to eliminate drainage disorders of the bile .
Drainage disorders can u. a. caused by tumors (e.g. pancreatic carcinoma ) in the area of the major duodenal papilla (mouth of the bile duct into the duodenum ) or the common bile duct.
The standard procedure is a choledochojejunostomy as a connection to the ( jejunum ) ( empty intestine ). A connection between the choledochoduodenostomy and the duodenum has not proven effective because of the frequent inflammation of the biliary tract.
