Bill Urmson

Bill Urmson is an American jazz bassist.

After graduating from the New England Conservatory of Music, Urmson became the bassist in George Russell's International Living Time Orchestra . He took part in the orchestra's tour and took part in recordings such as the grammy- nominated album Africa (1983), So What (1983), London Concert (1989), Its About Time (1996) and the 80th Birthday Concert (2005) .

From 1991 to 2000 Urmson lived in Los Angeles , where he a. a. recorded with Chris Smither ( Happier Blue ), Brian Ales ( Naïveté ) and Rich Shmeria ( 3 AM ). He founded the group Dark Horses with guitarist Barry Coates and saxophonist Steve Tavaglione . With Billy Ward and Berry Coates he released the album Out The Door in 2007 .
