The Bingu National Stadium is a multifunctional stadium in Lilongwe , Central Region , Malawi . It is mostly used for soccer games. The stadium has a capacity of 41,100 seats. The stadium was officially opened on January 28, 2017 by the President of Malawi, Professor Peter Mutharika . The first game at the stadium was an encounter between Nyasa Big Bullets FC and Be Forward Wanderers FC on January 2, 2017, which the Wanderers won 2-1. Construction started in mid-2013 and was completed at the end of 2016.
