Biodiversity and Conservation is an English-language specialist publication for biodiversity research and nature conservation. The magazine has been published by Springer since 1992 with four issues per year. It is published by David L. Hawksworth, Universidad Complutense de Madrid , Spain. In 2012, the journal had an impact factor of 2,264 and was therefore ranked 60th out of 136 journals in the Science Citation Index in the ecology category .
