Biogeosciences is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Copernicus Publications . It publishes under Open Access and publishes original research papers and reviews on all topics relating to the interactions of biological, chemical and physical processes with the geosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere. The aim is to transcend traditional subject boundaries and thus enable interdisciplinary research.

The impact factor in 2016 was 3.851, the five-year impact factor was 4.618. In the two-year Impact Factor, the journal was ranked 35th out of 153 scientific journals in the “Ecology” category and 20th out of 188 journals in the “Multidisciplinary Geosciences” category.
