Biopharmaceutical

The Biopharmaceuticals is the doctrine of the relationship between the chemical and physical properties of drugs and excipients , as well as their pharmaceutical form and whose biological effectiveness in a living organism. The biological effectiveness arises from the entry of the medicinal substance into the organism, its distribution in tissues, the metabolism ( metabolism ) and the elimination from the organism. Applying biopharmaceutical knowledge is intended to achieve and understand the desired therapeutic effect of the drug. Biopharmaceuticals is a teaching and study subject as well as a research area at German universities.

Individual aspects of biopharmacy are, for example, drug release , absorption , pharmacokinetics , bioavailability and metabolism .
