Birgit Antoni (painter)

Birgit Antoni (* 1956 in Cologne ) is a German artist and painter. She lives and works in Cologne.

Antoni studied art at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences in 1976/77 , then until 1984 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . In 1983 she became a master class student . From 1980 to 1990 she shot and drew - partly abstract - short films and cartoon art films and exhibited them as film loops, around 1986 at the Kölnischer Kunstverein and at various film festivals. In 1987 she received the Chargesheimer scholarship from the city of Cologne.

Since 1990 she has devoted herself to abstract painting with oil paintings from hand-drawn circles. Many solo and group exhibitions follow. Catalog publications with art-historical texts and images of her paintings are also published.
