Birgitta Festival

The Birgitta Festival is an annual music festival that has been held in the capital of Estonia, Tallinn , since 2005 .

The festival is carried out by the Tallinn Philharmonic under the direction of the Estonian conductor Eri Klas . The venue is the ruins of the Gothic Birgitta monastery in the north-eastern suburb of Tallinn Pirita .

The international guests of the Birgitta Festival since 2005 include the Moscow Helikon Opera , which performed the opera Un ballo in maschera in 2014 . The Russian singer Elwira Chochlowa was a guest of the festival in 2008.
