Bishop of Tranquebar is the title of bishop in the Tamil Evangelical Lutheran Church ( Tamil Evangelical Lutheran Church , TELC) in Tamil Nadu , South India. The TELC was founded in 1919 in the tradition of the Leipzig Mission Association and the Swedish (Lutheran) Mission . The bishop's robe was taken over by the Lutheran Church in Sweden . The Bishop of Tranquebar has his seat in Trichynopoly .
