Bit-Tuner (* 1978 in St. Gallen , bourgeois Marcel Gschwend ) is a Swiss musician . His electronic music is mainly divided into the dubstep genre , but shaped by electronic instruments.

Bit-Tuner uses MPC, synthesizers, computers, an electric bass guitar, as well as many analog effects in its songs. He also often works with old vinyl recordings. This often results in heavy, slow beats and pounding bass and a dark atmosphere.

He also composes music for dance theater, for example for the dance company of the St. Gallen Theater , sans filtre in Zurich and Compagnie buffpapier in St. Gallen.

With the rapper Dani Göldin , he released four albums and a remix EP as Göldin & Bit-Tuner on the Quiet Records label in Zurich.

Other collaborations originated e.g. B. with Egogrill or the rapper Omega Takeshi from 88: komaflash (Munich), audio88 from Berlin / Neukölln or Sensational from Wordsound Recording in New York City.

In December 2009 his second album "Low-Speed ​​Detonation" was released on the Trepok Records label, Zurich. The fifth solo album "A Bit of Light" brought out the label -OUS, Zurich, which was founded in the same year.

In 2015, Bit-Tuner was nominated for the Swiss Music Prize by the Federal Office for Culture.
