Unfair behavior
BitComet has often attracted attention in the past due to its massively unfair behavior:
For example, versions prior to 0.61 were banned from many private trackers because these versions did not take the "private" attribute into account and distributed the files via DHT .
Version 0.81 also fell out of favor because it stated that the upload speed was too high and thus exploited so-called super seeding .
Since incidents of this kind occur all too often in the version history of BitComet, the client has now been banned by many private and anti-leech trackers.
Felix von Leitner noticed that BitComet reports fake peers without checking and can thus generate heavy loads on an HTTPS server.
