Bitstream Vera is a free font under a liberal license. It was designed by Jim Lyles at Bitstream and is almost identical to his fonts Bitstream Prima , DejaVu and Menlo . It is a TrueType font with full hinting , which improves the display quality on low-resolution devices such as computer monitors. Although Vera only covers common character sets and the Latin alphabet with a few special characters, the license allows you to create your own more extensive derivatives. A group does this in the form of the DejaVu scriptures.
Bitstream Vera includes an Antiqua , a Grotesque, and a Disproportionate .
