Biwak is a television program of the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk , which deals with the topic of trend sports, interesting excursion destinations and wellness offers.

Biwak is broadcast twice a month, on Wednesday afternoons on MDR television , and since October 2007 also on Thursdays on hr television . Biwak used to be broadcast in the evening program of the MDR.
The magazine was first broadcast in 1991, at that time still by DFF country chain . The show was designed by Horst Mempel , who moderated it until 2001. He was dismissed by the MDR due to Stasi work. Since then, Biwak has been moderated by Thorsten Kutschke from Dresden .
The MDR mit rucksack also has its own program dedicated to hiking .
