Bixie
Pixiu ( Chinese 貔貅 , Pinyin pí xiū , English pi xiu etc., originally also called Chinese 辟邪 , Pinyin bì xié , English pi xie ) are creatures of Chinese mythology who resemble a lion, but have wings. They are supposed to drive away evil spirits. They are often found as decor on textiles, banners, belt hooks, seals and bells. They are shown particularly expressively in the stone sculptures in front of the emperor's graves of the Southern Dynasties .
