Inga & Anusch ( Armenian Ինգա և Անուշ ) is a folk - pop duo from Armenia , consisting of the sisters Inga Aršakjan ( Armenian Ինգա Արշակյան / Inga Aršakyan) (born March 18, 1982 in Yerevan ) and Anusch Aršakjan ( Armenian Անուշ Արշակյան / Anowš Aršakyan) (born December 24, 1980 in Yerevan).

Career

Both sisters attended the Sergei Aslamasjan Music School and the Arno Babadschanjan Music School. Anusch learned the piano , Inga the violin . They then studied jazz singing at the Yerevan State Conservatory of Music, which they both graduated in 2005.

In 2000, they came into the ensemble of the State Armenian singing theater and appeared in many places of Armenia with this, in 2002 was followed by a first tour in the United States . In 2003 the sisters left the theater and began their careers as a duo. The albums We and Our Mountains (2003) and Tamzara (2006) were created.

On February 14th, 2009 the sisters won the Armenian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow . With their song Jan Jan they reached the fifth place in the semi-finals on May 12th and qualified for the final on May 16th. There the two achieved tenth place - after two eighth and one fourth place, the worst position for Armenia since the country first participated in 2006.

In 2015 Inga Arshakjan returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna as a member of the Genealogy group .
