Bjorn Larsson
Björn Larsson (* 1953 in Jönköping ) is a Swedish writer and professor of French.
Life
Larsson attended school in Jönköping in southern Sweden. The 15-year-old spent a year in high school in Arizona. After finishing school, he lived in Paris for four years, where he learned fluent French and completed his distance learning. He received his doctorate in 1988 on Simone de Beauvoir with the title: La réception des Mandarins .
For some time he was an assistant, then professor of French at Lund University . Larsson is the author of numerous scientific and technical works, from a treatise on the use of French adjectives to an instruction book for deep-sea diving. With his writing, Larsson processes his true passion: sailing. During the summer holidays he lives on his sailing boat in Denmark. Larsson achieved his breakthrough as a writer in 1995 with the fictional biography of the character Long John Silver , the ship's cook from the novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson .
