The Blue Lion is a culture award from the Harburg district in Lower Saxony .

The price

The Blue Lion has been awarded annually since 2005 to artists from various cultural areas who are related to the Harburg district. Individual artists or groups can apply directly; suggestions can also be submitted by citizens of the district. The jury is made up of regional journalists, culture experts from the Harburg district, the district administrator and representatives of Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude .

The award is endowed with prize money of currently 2,000 euros, which is provided by the Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude. The award ceremony takes place in autumn each year and is organized by the Open-Air Museum Foundation on the Kiekeberg .
