Blencow , sometimes called Blencowe , is a town in Cumbria in north-west England . The place is divided by the River Petteril in Little Blencow in the north and Great Blencow in the south.

The place gave the station Blencow on the railway line Penrith - Cockermouth of the Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway the name, although the station was on the edge of the neighboring town Newbiggin .

The politician William Whitelaw lived for a long time in a house on the southern edge of the town.
