Bernd Scheffler

Bernd Scheffler (born October 23, 1947 in Leipzig ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .

Education and life

Bernd Scheffler graduated from the 10-class high school in Leipzig in 1964, completed an apprenticeship in toolmaking in Glashütte until 1967 and worked as a toolmaker. In 1967/73 he was IT organizer at VEB Robotron Berlin and later in Magdeburg, in 1974 he became IT department manager at the socialist trade company Möbel Magdeburg. In 1980 he studied at the Technical College for Internal Trade in Dresden, Magdeburg branch. In 1984 he studied distance learning at the commercial college in Leipzig. In 1989 he became part of the operations manager at SHB Möbel Magdeburg. In 1990 he was a department head at ATLAS Handels-GmbH Magdeburg for a short time.

Bernd Scheffler is of Protestant denomination, is married and has one daughter.

Bernd Scheffler was directly elected to the state parliament in the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 in the state electoral district of Burg (WK 6). Until December 1991 he was a member of the CDU parliamentary group. In December 1991 he left the CDU parliamentary group and joined Joachim Auer's “free parliamentary group” . A few weeks later he left the free parliamentary group and was non-attached from January 1992 to February 1992. From February 1992 he was a formal guest of the CDU parliamentary group.
