Joachim Auer
Joachim Auer (born July 12, 1953 in Heidelberg ; † February 4, 2017 in Ilsenburg ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .
Life
Joachim Auer attended the Bismarck High School in Karlsruhe from 1964 to 1972 and the Friedrich List High School there from 1972 to 1973 . After graduating from high school, from 1974 to 1979 he worked for the Bundeswehr Administration (Defense Division V Stuttgart). From 1975 to 1979 he was a civil servant in the Bundeswehr administration. From 1979 to 1990 he was self-employed in the field of business consulting and financial services .
Auer was the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 in the state election district Bitterfeld I elected with 45.5% of votes directly into the state parliament. At the constituent meeting of the CDU parliamentary group on October 16, 1990 he was elected chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. He prevailed with 31 votes against Peter Schenk and Michael Liwowski , who each received eight votes. Auer was a member of the executive board of the CDU and a member of the coalition committee of the first state government of Saxony-Anhalt. He was also a member of the state parliament's Stasi investigation committee.
Auer publicly criticized Prime Minister Gerd Gies for dealing with incriminated government employees and thus contributed to Gies' resignation in 1991. Auer spoke out against the election of Werner Münch as the new prime minister and later also as the state chairman of the CDU, but could not prevail.
At the Wolmirstedt party convention of the CDU Saxony-Anhalt at the end of November 1991, Münch was elected with 134 of 247 votes cast. Thereupon Auer announced his immediate resignation as parliamentary group chairman and his resignation from the CDU.
Auer was then non-attached until December 1991. On December 18, he formed the "Free Fraction" with the previous CDU MPs Gerhard Mitschke , Karsten Knolle and Bernd Scheffler, as well as the former SPD parliamentarian Jürgen Angelbeck, and was its chairman until January 1992. The faction disbanded after Knolle returned to the CDU. On January 6, 1992, Auer joined the DSU . Thereupon left the free parliamentary group on Angelbeck.
At the beginning of May, Auer, Mitschke and the CDU MP Braun as well as the SPD MP Bärbel Ballhorn and the PDS MP Hans-Gerd Glück formed the DSU parliamentary group. In early May 1993, Eckhard Schneider joined the DSU parliamentary group, whereupon Auer resigned and remained non-attached for the rest of the electoral term.
